Cookies & Browser Storage

Why we use browser storage
This page covers cookies and similar browser-storage technologies. Cookies can accompany requests to our service. Session storage keeps information in the current browser tab for continuity across pages and refreshes.
AssurvAI currently uses first-party cookies and browser storage for essential and functional purposes. We do not currently use advertising cookies, behavioral advertising, retargeting pixels, or cross-site marketing trackers. No optional analytics integration is currently used.
What we store in your browser
| Technology | Purpose, category and lifetime |
|---|---|
| Account session |
Essential. Up to the configured session period, currently 7 days by default. Signing out clears the browser session cookie. |
| Demo ownership and selection |
Essential / Functional. Configured cookie lifetime: 24 hours. |
| Builder continuity |
Functional. Browser-tab session storage, removed through Builder reset or lifecycle paths and normally when the tab’s session ends. |
| Public interview continuity | Interview session storage preserves continuity and resume state. It may contain access or resume credentials required for the active interview. Functional. Held in browser-tab session storage and cleared through interview lifecycle or reset paths, or when the browser session ends. Clearing it may prevent you from resuming an interview. |
| Completion handoff | Session storage lets the homepage display the completion message after an interview redirects there. The stored record contains only a version and completion display message; it adds no interview, invitation or resume token, account ID, name, email or respondent identity fields. Functional. Cleared when the message is dismissed or when the browser-tab session ends. This is display state, not a separate interview record. |
Browser session restoration can affect how long session storage remains available. Browser storage lifetimes are separate from retention of interview data on our servers.
Third-party services
When you visit Stripe-hosted Checkout or Customer Portal, Stripe may use its own cookies and browser technologies. Supported voice and Realtime features also connect to third-party services, which may process browser or connection information under their own arrangements.
These are separate from AssurvAI’s first-party storage. We do not control or inventory provider cookies as if they were our own. See the Privacy Policy for the providers and processing involved.
Your browser choices
You can review, block or clear cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may prevent account sign-in, demo access, Builder continuity, interview resume or completion messages from working as intended.
For questions about these technologies, email admin@assurvai.com.
